Master Mabuni insisted that the system of Yo Riu Bi applied. That is technique should be useful (Yo), and have flowing rhythm of movement (Riu), and from the combination should come (Bi) or beauty.

Everything should be practical but have a utility elegant so is the parent about the expert and casual observer. The applications of follow are those of a basic Heian Katas of Shito ryu Kara.
